    Willie

    Concierge/Client Relations/Security
    The 2nd longest serving member of the team, Willie is always on hand to greet every single client and their pets as soon as they walk in the door.

    Willie is so good when it comes to kittens looking for new homes- he plays gently with them and trains them whilst they are in our care before they head to their new families.

    Likes: Vanilla yogurt, when all his friends call in with treats for him, naps.

    Dislikes: Strawberry yogurt, not getting enough attention.

    Practice Manager
    Amy has been an integral part of the Cahir Vets team since 2014, bringing dedication and expertise to her role.

    With a background as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN), Amy transitioned to the position of Practice Manager in 2023. In her role, Amy oversees the day-to-day operations of the clinic, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

    With her wealth of experience and passion for animal care, Amy plays a vital role in providing exceptional service and support to our clients and their beloved pets.

    Nicola

    Practice Manager
    Nicola brings a wealth of experience and diverse skills to the Cahir team after returning to Ireland from Canada, where she spent 10 years honing her expertise in animal care.

    With a background as a practice manager in Vancouver, as well as experience as a dog groomer, managing a doggy day care facility, and running a pet shop, Nicola is well-equipped to provide exceptional service to our clients and their pets.

    Now settled in the countryside with her small children, cat, and dog, Nicola is thrilled to join the Cahir team and continue her passion for animal welfare and care.

    Helena

    Receptionist
    Meet Helena, a dedicated team member with three years tenure at our clinic, following the completion of an Animal Care course. Originally from Thurles, Helena has always had a passion for animals, with her love for animals that dates back to childhood.

    As an experienced groomer, Helena brings her passion for excellence and attention to detail to our clinic in Cahir as Receptionist on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

    She currently shares her life with two dogs and four cats.

    Folke

    Owner / Large and Small Animal Vet
    Folke, hailing from a family legacy of veterinarians spanning two generations in Germany, earned his degree from Hannover Uni in 1984. Armed with a PhD focusing on herd health, he ventured to Ireland, initially settling in Cork.

    In 1992, Folke founded the Cahir Vet practice, dedicating himself wholeheartedly to serving the community of farmers and pet owners. Responding to overwhelming demand, Clonmel Vet Clinic joined the portfolio of Small Animal Clinics in 2004.

    Throughout his career, Folke has maintained a lifelong passion for horses and still manages to fit carriage driving competitions and training into his busy schedule, aided by his family.

    Annika

    Small Animal Vet
    Annika, a graduate of the Veterinary University of Hanover in 1999, found her passion for animal care as a child, and following graduation moved to Ireland.

    What was initially intended to be a temporary stay became a lifelong commitment. Joining the team at Cahir Vets, Annika gained valuable experience in mixed practice, quickly becoming an essential part of our team.

    Following the birth of her twins, Annika shifted her focus primarily to small animal care, bringing her compassion and dedication to every patient she treats.

    Úna

    Large and Small Animal Vet
    Úna is a vet from Cork who graduated from UCD 2020. Growing up on a dairy farm, the love for animals and their welfare has always been a central part of her life.

    Úna started her career as a mixed vet in Co. Kerry for 2 years. Her role comprised of looking after both large and small animals. From there, she worked a year in New Zealand as a mixed vet experiencing the busy spring and scanning seasons while also working in small animal clinics.

    She joined our team this year as a small animal vet however OOH Úna will cover both small and large animal calls

    Niamh

    Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon
    Niamh qualified as a vet from St Istvan University in Budapest in 2009. Originally from Ballyporeen and the daughter of a Vet so it has been her passion since she was a little girl.

    Having spent 14 years in the UK as a small animal veterinary surgeon Niamh returned to Ballyporeen in April 2023 with her husband, young son and 14 year old cat.

    Niamh joined our team once settled back home and now is the main small animal vet in our clonmel clinic Monday to Thursday.

    Conor

    Large and Small Animal Vet
    Conor, originally from West Tipperary, has a primary interest in cattle, particularly dairy work.

    Conor's veterinary journey began with a couple of years in Listowel, Co. Kerry, followed by a year working in the North Island of New Zealand.

    Now, Conor brings his diverse experience and passion for cattle care to Cahir Vets, where he is dedicated to providing top-notch veterinary services to our clients and their animals.

    Large and Small Animal Vet
    Michael is the newest addition to our veterinary team and brings with him experience in both small and large animal care.

    He’s passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality treatment and is looking forward to getting to know our clients—two-legged and four-legged alike!

    Tovah

    Senior Veterinary Nurse & Senior Administration
    A Clonmel native, born and raised, Tovah is the friendly front of house face, always ready to greet you.

    She’s been surrounded by dogs and cats since she was born so it was only natural she’d end up working with them!

    Known by her colleagues as ‘The Gatekeeper’, or sometimes “The Cat Whisperer”, Tovah oversees the day to day running of the Clinic and always makes sure every patient receives the best care in a safe and caring environment.

    Tovah has four cats, Mad Nancy, Ferris Mewler, Egon and Mad Mick!

    Ciara

    Vet Nurse
    Ciara joined Cahir Vets as a Vet Nurse in September 2024 and will be graduating from ATU Donegal this November.

    She has a lifelong love for animals, finding great joy in caring for them and spending time in their company.

    Outside of work, Ciara enjoys listening to heavy metal, reading, and walking her dog. She shares her home with her dog and cat, who keep her busy and inspired.

    Aisling

    Receptionis/Trainee Vet Nurse
    Aisling is a dedicated member of our team, serving as a receptionist and animal care assistant at our clinic. Currently pursuing her veterinary nursing degree in Cork, she anticipates graduating in 2025.

    Aisling's love for cats knows no bounds; she shares her home with two beloved feline companions, brothers Benny and Bailey. At work, she shares a special bond with Willie, our clinic's resident cat, who has become her loyal companion.

    Aisling's decision to work with animals stems from her deep-rooted passion for their well-being and the immense joy they bring into her life.

    Karen

    Receptionist/Trainee Vet Nurse
    Meet Karen, a valued member of our team who joined us in November 2023. Currently in a learning phase, Karen is dedicated to honing her skills and expanding her knowledge across various aspects of our veterinary practice. 

    With a focus on providing excellent customer service, Karen assists in reception duties and supports our veterinarians in their day-to-day tasks. Her enthusiasm and willingness to learn make her an invaluable asset to our team.
